The firm

Built around one question: can this project be permitted, and can it be run?

California Mining Consultants is a mine development and consulting firm working with claim owners, operators, and investors on properties across the Western United States.

Overview

Technical work, agency experience, and project discipline in one place.

The firm works across the full arc of a mining project: evaluating a property, testing whether the numbers hold, establishing the permitting pathway, carrying the submittals through the responsible agencies, and supporting the operation once it is approved.

Mining in California requires satisfying a set of agencies that do not coordinate with each other and do not move quickly. A project can be geologically sound and still fail because the reclamation plan, the water quality question, or the county process was handled late or handled poorly. We are engaged to prevent that.

Most of our clients are closely held. They own something real, they intend to develop or monetize it, and they need experienced people rather than a large firm and a long invoice.

Philosophy

How we work.

Disciplined analysis
Conclusions follow from title records, field observation, and the technical record. Where the evidence is thin, we say so rather than filling the gap with optimism.
Direct engagement
Clients work with the principals. Findings are delivered in plain language, in writing, with the reasoning visible.
Sequenced spending
Work is staged so that the cheapest questions are answered first. There is no reason to pay for a feasibility study before the title and permitting picture is understood.
Execution
A recommendation is only useful if someone carries it. We stay involved through submittal, agency response, and startup when a client wants that continuity.
Discretion
Engagements, findings, and negotiations remain confidential.

Approach

How an engagement runs.

Every project is different, but the sequence rarely is. Each stage is designed to answer a question before the next stage costs money.

Stage 01

Initial review

A confidential conversation and a first look at the property, the ownership position, and the objective. No cost, and no obligation on either side.

Stage 02

Evaluation

Title and claim status, historic work, site conditions, and the regulatory position. This stage decides whether the project is worth pursuing.

Stage 03

Strategy and permitting

A defined pathway, a schedule, a budget, and the submittals themselves, carried through the responsible agencies.

Stage 04

Development and operations

Startup planning, compliance programs, and ongoing advisory support once the project is approved and running.

Discretion

Client work stays with the client.

Property details, technical findings, valuations, and transaction discussions are confidential. We do not publish client names or project specifics, and we do not use active work as marketing material.

Where a prospective client needs references or relevant project background, we provide it directly and privately, subject to the permission of the parties involved.

Inquiries

Tell us about the property.

Initial conversations are confidential and cost nothing. If a project is outside what we do, we will say so early.
